Does this sound familiar?

Everything shifted, and you’re not sure who you are now

Even good changes can knock you off balance. A new job, a move, a baby, or an empty house can leave you anxious and unsure of yourself. Hard changes, like a divorce, a diagnosis, or losing someone, can make the ground feel like it’s gone.

You might be handling it on the outside. Inside, you’re questioning your choices and wondering where you fit.

Changes we often help with

  • Starting or changing careers
  • The end of a relationship or marriage
  • Becoming a mother, or an empty nest
  • Caring for an aging parent
  • Moving somewhere new
  • A health diagnosis
  • Grief and loss
How therapy helps

Finding your footing again

Therapy gives you space to grieve what’s ending, sort through what you want next, and quiet the worry that comes with not knowing. Your therapist will help you get clear on your values, speak up for what you need, and step into the next chapter with more confidence.

If a change has left you feeling flat or hopeless for weeks, depression therapy may also help.

What you might work on

  • Identity beyond the roles you’ve played
  • Anxiety about the unknown
  • Grieving what you’ve lost, even in a good change
  • Self-doubt and confidence
  • Making decisions you can stand behind

Questions

Before you reach out

Is a good change a reason to start therapy?

It can be. New jobs, moves, and new babies bring stress and loss along with excitement. Therapy helps you adjust.

Do you help with grief?

Yes. Jessica Johnson works with women through grief and loss, along with other big life changes.

How long does therapy for a life transition take?

It depends on you and what you're facing. Some women come for a season; others stay longer. You and your therapist will talk about it as you go.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept Aetna, Highmark Delaware commercial plans, and Delaware Medicaid plans, including Highmark Health Options, AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware, and Delaware First Health. There is no cost to you with Delaware Medicaid. We confirm your benefits before scheduling.

Do I need to know which therapist I want?

No. Tell us a little about what you're carrying and we'll help you find the right fit.

You have carried enough on your own.

Take the first small step. We will help you find the next right one.
